New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Growers Sponsored 4-H Sheep Clinic
July 9-11, 2010
at the 4-H Youth Center in New Boston, NH
Programs and activities at the 4-H Youth Sheep Clinic revolve around the 4-H'ers and their sheep.
Counselors, staff, and volunteer guest speakers instruct the 4-H'ers on fitting and showing as
well as general management and care of sheep. The 4-H Sheep Clinic is designed for 4-H'ers
(ages 8-18 as of January 1st) with sheep projects to learn the skills needed to get a head start
or refresher before the summer fairs and sheep shows begin. 4-H'ers who attend the clinic
learn animal husbandry skills and how to fit and show their
sheep while meeting new people, visiting old friends and
having a good time.
All clinic counselors and staff are volunteers with
knowledge in the raising and showing of sheep. Counselors
are experienced current or former 4-H'ers in the sheep
program. Adult staff members are 4-H leaders, parents
and volunteers. The ratio of clinic attendees to staff is
kept low to allow for close supervision for instruction
